About

Janne Amalie Svit (1978) is a Norwegian photographer graduated from Kent Institute of Art and Design in England and Norwegian School of Photography. She teaches photography at Sund Folk College besides working with her personal projects.

Svit work is nurtured by her relationship to her surroundings in the north, in a place many would think of as in the middle of nowhere. Her work can be seen as a visual diary, investigating motherhood, dystopia and the human condition. Mixing the staged and the observed, inspired by magical realism.

Svit also works in an artist duo with Merete Haseth. You can find her duo work here: www.svithaseth.wordpress.com
